Like My Chemical Romance before them, English pop idols McFly signal a turn towards glamier horizons with a silent film inspired video. It's no surprise that this style which demands overacting has become the genre of choice for pop punk bands looking to go Queen. The cross-dressing and uninhibited performances of the band members make this an entertaining romp, and the song itself is a strange and welcome change of pace. But neither McFly nor their Gothic American brethren have mastered the silent form - turns out there's more to it than make-up and old cameras.
